Something needs wrap but so oil, for the operation that fits the whole meticulously in a DN drain pipe. And check meticulously the film if there not somewhere is a single speck of dust in there!
You should test before even the foil in the small winding, 0.065 mm would be too thin. I'm guessing that skin at more than 5 kV quite safely through by Norbi looks honestly said very well. The winding device also. How many volts can that? 1µF is already a power :D

And eventually it comes inevitably to the conclusion that the self construction capacitor works not quite as satisfying as it has, not hoped in particular to a TC. Some tinkering may be good times to get the feel of the thing, but much more is not. Sure you can reach something with tremendous effort, but would you put these resources to commercial caps, one very much more of them would have.
Especially wound capacitors are suitable but not for impulse discharges, as much too inductive pulse Festival generally although probably. As smoothing for HV-Versorgunsspannungen, I could see the a good vorstellen...oder as storage capacitors.
AC voltage applications in general are rather unfavourable. I so have no doubt that it is possible to make a more durable Eigenbaucap but this will have only very low capacity, and is also quite expensive to build. Slide and air is never long. The Kornaentladungen eat time by almost any film dielectric and quite not get away it a clean design. Basically you would have to assemble the caps under oil (after insert helps barely any minimum defect leads to problems and get air bubbles between two slides right out... even with vacuum the bubble expands only, has but no urge to disappear). Oil paper might be an option if it with some effort but also not really great and difficult to boot. Another method was a Korona-free building, but then calls for thick plates with rounded corners and edges. A Glascap would also be conceivable but because ordinary glass must be quite thick to prevent breakdowns and quartz glass plates are outrageously expensive that is not profitable. Also Teflon plates are more expensive than doorknobs and epoxy is again too unstable for O3.
To improvise, for testing purposes and the learning I quite like Eigenbaucaps but I think little of them in bodies that should last longer and this is especially important for me. I like no superstructures, which are inherently only on a few hours of life.

However, I would not underestimate the effort. We have to wrap a few Testkondis (several meters small angle error noticeable quickly evil foil). Dielectric test then somehow make 30% of the value of the best an endurance test for a few days. Then must of course within the wrap to the knew the film any air present his as himself since Corona discharges work through time by the film, say all, oil and much time is busy. Duty which reasonably durable to get things done.
